Frequently asked questions
How is reading time calculated?
Reading time is estimated from the word count using an average adult reading speed (around 200–230 words per minute), so it's a guide rather than an exact figure.
Does it count characters with or without spaces?
Both. You get a character count including spaces and a separate count excluding them, which is useful for fields with strict limits.
Will my text be stored?
No. All counting happens locally in your browser and nothing you paste is transmitted or saved.
